Guitar Tutor

Barry McAleenan started learning the guitar by himself at age 5 and took lessons from the age of 6. Under the tutelage of local guitar legend Frank Henery he not only learned the craft of music and music theory, but also built up a large repertoire in the traditional jazz idiom - with a strong emphasis on improvisation.

Since then he has worked regularly in various settings such as function bands, theatre shows and original bands.

His passion, however, lies in education - and he is responsible for delivering the highest quality guitar tuition available to students of all ages and abilities day-in-day-out at the Wishaw Music Centre.
